Srinagar, Sep 21 (KNO): The Jammu & Kashmir Government will tomorrow move a resolution in the Legislative Assembly seeking amendments to the Right to Education Act to exempt teachers from the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
As per the list of business circulated by the Assembly Secretariat, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the resolution unanimously urges the Union Government to make the necessary statutory amendment to Section 23 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, to exempt all teachers appointed before 01.01.2019 from appearing in the TET.
“This House further urges the Union Government to take all legal steps and issue the requisite notification through the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for exemption from the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET),” reads the proposed resolution.
The resolution would be moved by Minister for School Education, Sakina Masood Ittoo.
As per list of business, Minister for Rural Development Department, Javaid Ahmad Dar will move a Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Societies Act, 19 to repeal the Jammu and Kashmir Self Reliant Cooperative Act, 1999 to provide transitional arrangement of self-reliant cooperatives under Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Societies Act, 1989 and for matters connected or incidental thereto—(KNO)
